Pats’ Heath Irwin Goes to Dolphins
FOXBORO, Mass. (AP) _ Another member of the New England Patriots oft-maligned offensive line has left for a new team.
The Miami Dolphins signed free agent guard Heath Irwin, 26, to a four-year, $7 million contract, his agent, Jack Mills, said Thursday.
Mills said the contract includes a $2 million signing bonus.
Irwin, the nephew of professional golfer Hale Irwin, started 13 games for the Patriots last season. At Miami, he will be reunited with former New England line coach Paul Boudreau.
Earlier, the Patriots released veteran left tackle Bruce Armstrong.
