Norfolk Catholic volleyball gets postseason run underway today
The Norfolk Catholic volleyball team is 12-15 on the year after finishing as the runner-up at the Mid State Conference Tournament last Thursday.
They beat Pierce in the quarterfinals 3-0, upset Wayne in the semifinals 3-1, and lost to Hartington Cedar Catholic in the championship match 3-0. This year, the Lady Knights have beaten Boone Central/Newman Grove, Lutheran High Northeast, Crofton, West Point-Beemer, Blair, Battle Creek, Neligh/Oakdale twice, O’Neill, West Point Guardian Angels Central Catholic, Pierce, and Wayne. Norfolk Catholic was 1-9 after a three-set loss to Wayne on September 18th. Since then, they’ve went 11-6 and now stand with a 12-15 mark. They return to action today when they play 6-21 Madison at 4:30 in an opening round match of the C-2-6 Sub-District Tournament at Wisner/Pilger High School. If the Lady Knights were to win that match, top ranked in Class ‘C-2’ 26-1 Stanton looms in the semifinals at 7:30.
