Minors: Margot swipes 2; Giron to Storm

Diego Goris drove in two runs on a double, Manuel Margot swiped two bases and Frank Garces turned in five strong innings to lead Triple-A El Paso to a 5-1 win over Salt Lake on Saturday night in the Pacific Coast League.

Garces (4.63) struck out seven and allowed an unearned run on three hits and two walks before giving way to the bullpen for four scoreless frames, starting first with two perfect innings from right-hander Daniel Moskos (5-2, 2.96).

Carlos Asuaje (.328), Hector Sanchez (.345) and Jose Rondon (.261) each had two hits, while Margot’s two-steal effort gives him 27 on the season.

The Chihuahuas are 67-60.

NW Arkansas 5, Missions 2: RHP Dinelson Lamet (5-7, 3.39) struck out seven and allowed a run on five hits and a walk in 5 1/3 innings in a tough-lucky loss. CF Franchy Cordero (.312) went 2-for-4 with a run scored and DH Gabriel Quintana (.249) doubled in two runs.

Storm 2, Lancaster 1: RHP Chris Huffman (3.90) struck out five and allowed a run in seven innings and RHPs Zech Lemond (6-4, 6.23) and Phil Maton (1.64) each turned in perfect frames. SS Ruddy Giron went 1-for-2 with an RBI, two walks and a steal in his Cal League debut, C A.J. Kennedy (.235) doubled twice and scored a run and 2B Luis Urias (.323) went 2-for-4 with his 22nd double.

TinCaps 2, Lake County 0: LHP Thomas Dorminy (4-4, 3.18) struck out 10 over seven shutout innings. SS Chris Baker drove in both runs on a home run and singled in his Midwest League debut.

Salem-Keizer 6, Dust Devils 2: RHP Cal Quantrill (0-2, 1.84) struck out six but allowed three runs in 3 2/3 innings. CF Buddy Reed (.226) went 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored.

Indians 6, Padres 2: LHP Dan Dallas (1-2, 3.12) struck out four and allowed three runs – one earned – on two hits and three walks in 3 2/3 innings. DH Bryant Aragon (.246) and 1B Luis Anguizola (.253) each drove in a run.

Padres 4, Reds 3: LHP Eduardo Solano (3-1, 4.05) struck out five and allowed just one hit in three scoreless innings in relief. 2B Luis Guzman (.286) drove in two runs on two hits and scored a run and C Blinger Perez (.213) went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
