PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Police say the 19-year-old brother of an 11-year-old shot and killed at his Philadelphia home has been charged in his death.

Authorities said Wednesday that Nikeem Leach was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter in the Monday shooting.

The boy was shot in the chest around noon at his home in West Philadelphia. He died at a hospital.

Police say Leach went door to door asking neighbors for help after the shooting.

Police found a gun in the house.

The boy was at least the fifth child killed by gunfire in Philadelphia in the last month.

Leach’s bail was set at $250,000. Court records don’t list the name of his attorney. His next hearing is scheduled for Nov. 27.
