Street pavement work starts Monday
Pavement preservation work is starting Monday on several Rochester streets.
The sealcoating work is expected to continue for two weeks, with three phases of work being done by Allied Blacktop Inc., according to Rochester Public Works.
The final stage on each street is lane striping.
A map showing the locations of the work can be found at www.rochestermn.gov/home/showdocument?id=17574
Affected streets will be posted with yellow “NO PARKING THIS SIDE” signs starting Monday, and parking will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays when signs are posted, which is expected to be through July 6.
During early steps — fogging and seal coating — hot emulsion will be placed on the street surface, and traffic lanes will be restricted.
Lane striping typically follows 10 days after sealing is complete.
The tentative schedule for the work is:
• June 11-15: Preparatory work (sweeping and cleaning streets)
• June 18-29: Chip sealing
• July 2-6: Fog sealing cul-de-sacs and select streets
