50 things to do this weekend, March 22, 23 and 24, 2019

March 21, 2019 GMT

Whether you’re a country music lover who needs your Blake Shelton fix, or a rock fan bent on catching Kiss, Connecticut has you covered this weekend. There’s even some classic indie-folk music, courtesy of The Indigo Girls.

Live theater productions abound as well, including a wild circus show from Montreal, Quebec. But first, let’s hit the music.

Mohegan Sun Arena is where you can see Shelton (“The Voice” coach) on Friday, March 22. Stay overnight if you can, because Kiss will be there the very next day, Saturday, March 23. The rockers are on their “End of the Road” world tour. Or if you prefer something more mellow that night, March 23, check out The Indigo Girls at Torrington’s Warner Theatre.

“Reversible” is the cool circus-type show on tap Friday through Sunday, March 22-24, at Foxwoods Resort Casino. This production is about folks connecting to their past. The performers, who are mainly in their 20s, explore the theme through acrobatics, aerial stunts, complex choreography and more.

Another show about folks connecting, but in a different way, is “Burt & Me,” onstage at Ivoryton Playhouse, Friday through Sunday, March 22 through 24, and running through April 7. This romantic musical comedy tells a story about high school sweethearts and features the music of Burt Bacharach and Hal David — songs such as “What the World Needs Now” and “Walk On By.”

Of course there’s also comedy, art exhibits and festivities for kids. Click through the slide show to see what else is happening.
