Foellinger concerts announced
For some, it will be their first appearance at Foellinger Theatre. Those include Christopher Cross with guest Stephen Bishop and former Journey lead vocalist Steve Augeri.
Others are favorites – think Chicago, Kansas, The Lettermen, The Beach Boys and ZZ Top – and they will be making a return.
Those are among the entertainment acts that Mayor Tom Henry joined with Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Director Al Moll on Friday to announce for the 2017 summer concert lineup at Foellinger Theatre.
The concert season begins May 18.
“I continue to be encouraged by the quality of life amenities that we’re able to provide in Fort Wayne,” Henry said in a statement. “The Foellinger Theatre Concert Series assists us in our efforts as a point of destination for individuals and families to enjoy activities and experience the momentum and investments we’re seeing in our community.”

To prevent overpaying for Foellinger Theatre tickets on a ticket scalping site, the Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation Department is recommending that patrons go directly to www.foellingertheatre.org and click on “Purchase Theatre Tickets.” That link will lead patrons to a list of concerts with their correct ticket prices and a seating chart, as well as an option to purchase directly from the Parks & Recreation Department.
Tickets may also be purchased by calling the Parks & Recreation office at 427-6000 or by visiting 705 E. State Blvd. from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
A number of free concerts will be held at Foellinger Theatre this season as well, including the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Youth Symphony, the 38th Infantry Division Band, the Fort Wayne Area Community Band and the Fort Wayne Children’s Choir.
Along with the concert series, officials announced that Foellinger Theatre will also feature eight free, family-friendly Harry Potter movie showings this summer. The free movies will be shown on Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m., which is an earlier time that last year, which was requested by families with young children.
