Driver charged with DUI after truck crashes into 2 homes
EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A man has been charged with DUI after his pick-up truck crashed through two yards and slammed into a house in Rhode Island.
WPRI-TV reports the crash happened around 3:40 a.m. on Saturday near an intersection in East Providence.
Police told the station that the truck was traveling south on Veterans Memorial Parkway before veering off the road.
The vehicle crashed through one home’s front lawn, shattering a fence and damaging small portions of the home. It then crashed into another yard, striking the house and destroying a set of glass doors.
No injuries were reported.
The driver, Brian Pimentel, 27, was charged with driving under the influence. He was released pending an appearance in Sixth District Court in Providence on Dec. 26.
It’s not clear if he has a lawyer.
