MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) _ Nicole Ohlde scored 16 of her 24 points in the first half, and grabbed 12 rebounds as fifth-ranked Kansas State beat Oklahoma State 64-46 Saturday night.
The Wildcats (23-2, 10-1 Big 12) overcame poor shooting in the first half to beat Oklahoma State (5-17, 1-10) for the first time in the last four meetings. Kansas State last beat the Cowgirls on Feb. 9, 2000.
Kendra Wecker added 17 points and Amy Dutmer had 11 rebounds for the Wildcats. Trisha Skibbe led the Cowgirls with 18 points and 12 rebounds and Shelby Hutchens scored 10.
Kansas State led only 31-30 at halftime, but scored 11 straight points to start the second half and the Cowgirls never recovered.
The Wildcats were 5-of-20 from the field with 6:35 left in the first half, but shot 51 percent after that to win their 19th straight at home.
Oklahoma State lost its eighth straight.
With Wecker on the bench with two fouls, the Wildcats missed their first eight shots and the Cowgirls quickly took an 8-0 lead to start the game. Oklahoma State led by as many as 13 before the Wildcats settled down.
Ohlde’s layup with 7:05 left sparked a 7-0 run that cut the lead to five with five minutes left in the half. The Wildcats took their first lead of the game when Ohlde made a free throw with 6.4 seconds left in the half. Kansas State never trailed after that.
