Brian Keith Blackburn, 29, 904 Emily St., Ludington, was sentenced to six months of initial jail time for one count of assaulting, resisting and obstructing a police officer and one count of reckless driving Tuesday in 51st Circuit Court.

Judge Susan K. Sniegowski said Blackburn allegedly grabbed the wheel of an automobile from his significant other, who was driving in winter weather conditions.

He was arrested on Jan. 28, 2019, according to court documents.

“He put himself and any other person out on the road in extreme danger as a result of his actions,” Mason County Prosecutor Paul Spaniola said.

He had one count of domestic violence dismissed as part of a plea agreement.

On the assaulting, resisting and obstruction charge, Blackburn could serve an additional nine months of jail at the court’s discretion.
