FBI, Cleveland police search for men who robbed Citizens Bank

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Federal and local authorities are searching for two armed men who robbed a Cleveland bank Wednesday morning.

Two 20-year-old men walked into Citizens Bank in the 15000 Puritas Avenue before 11:30 a.m., FBI spokeswoman Vicki Anderson said in a news release.

One of the men who had a black handgun jumped the counter and demanded three bank tellers on the ground, officials said.

The man took an unknown amount of money from two bank drawers.

Both men ran away from the bank following the robbery and jumped inside a parked maroon or red Jeep before speeding off, Anderson said.

No one was hurt in the robbery.

Surveillance images show the men entering and leaving the bank. They wore hoodies and bandanas as face mask.

Investigators said the men should be considered armed and dangerous.

Reward money is available to anyone with information leading to the prosecution of the robber from the Key Bank hold-up. Tipsters may remain anonymous when they call the Cleveland police department at 216-623-5000 or the FBI at 216-522-1400.
