Man wanted in Bedford Heights bank robbery surrenders

BEDFORD HEIGHTS, Ohio — The man captured on surveillance video Saturday morning robbing a Bedford Heights bank turned himself into police, federal authorities said. 

The man surrendered at the Bedford Heights police station Monday, FBI spokeswoman Vicki Anderson said. His is now being held in the Cuyahoga County Jail.

No formal charges have yet been filed against the man. Authorities provided the man’s name, but Cleveland.com does not name individuals unless they are officially charged.

The robbery happened Saturday just after 9 a.m. at Chase Bank on Northfield Road near Applegate Road. 

The man walked into the bank, showed a demand note indicating a robbery and that he had a gun. He left with an undisclosed amount of money.

None of the bank employees were hurt in the robbery.
