Amy Ahlden

Amy Marie Ahlden, 50, of Bourbonnais, passed away Sunday (March 11, 2018) at her home, with her family by her side.

She was born May 12, 1967, in Kankakee, the daughter of William and Patricia Wulff Golding. Amy married Jeffrey Ahlden on Sept. 16, 1988, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Bradley.

Amy was one of the most selfless human beings a person could have ever met, always putting others above herself. She enjoyed traveling and cruising. Amy was fond of her cats and loved her flowers. She was a volunteer for the Kankakee Animal Humane Foundation. Most of all, Amy enjoyed spending time with her family and following her children’s sports and activities.

Surviving are her husband, of Bourbonnais; three sons, Alec Ahlden, Seth Ahlden and Jeremy Ahlden, all of Bourbonnais; one daughter, Jennifer Ahlden, of Bourbonnais; her parents, William and Patricia Golding; mother-in-law, LouAnn Clark; one sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Dave Eastburn, of Doylestown, Pa.; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Dave and Kelli Golding, of Glenview, and Steve and Donna Golding, of Naperville; two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Mark and Debbie Ahlden, of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Traci and Dr. Art Kremer, of Bourbonnais; along with several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Debbie and MaryAnne, also known as Amy’s Angels.

Preceding her in death were her brother-in-law, Allen Menard; one uncle, Bud; and one aunt, Lucille.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. An additional time for visitation will be from 9 a.m. Friday until the 10 a.m. funeral service, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Maternity B.V.M. Cemetery, Bourbonnais.
