Vehicle engulfed in flames after crash outside Sycamore

SYCAMORE – A vehicle caught fire early Sunday after it went off Plank Road northeast of Sycamore, but the driver escaped without injury, police said.

According to a news release from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, Angela Logsdon, 20, of Elgin, was eastbound on Plank, just east of Lukens Road shortly before 2 a.m. when she lost control of her Cadillac. The vehicle left the road on the south side and crashed into a snowbank.

The Cadillac then caught fire and was engulfed in flames, the release shows. Logsdson, who was wearing a seatbelt, escaped safely, and no citations were issued.
