Mamie Long Moore, 95, lifelong N.C. resident

Mamie H. Long Moore, a resident of North Carolina., died on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at the Kitty Askins Hospice Center. She was 95.

She was born on March 15, 1922 to the late Jacob and Eva Long. She was a lifelong resident of the historic James City Community in New Bern, N.C.

She was married to Earl W. Moore Sr. for 64 years. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by: her sons, the Rev. William B. Moore (Pauline) of Philadelphia and Earl W. Moore Jr. of Goldsboro, N.C.; daughters; the Rev. Eva A. Moore, Washington, D.C., and Beverly Vail (Michael) of Norfolk, Va.; grandsons, Derrick B. Moore (Caroleen) of Mitchellville, Md., and Bishop Justin B. Moore of Reston, Va.; granddaughters, the Rev. Tamieka N. Gerow (Keon) of Drexel Hill and Shanay M. Vail of Norfolk, Va.; great-grandsons, Darius Moore of Mitchellville, Md., and Keon Gerow II of Drexel Hill; great-granddaughters, Jerya M. Moore of Charlotte, N.C., and Kennedy Gerow of Drexel Hill; adopted daughter, Dorothy A. Dunson of Pasadena, Calif.; sisters-in-law, Mamie Lockett and Pearl Delong; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be held Saturday at noon at Centenary Methodist Church, 309 New St., New Bern, N.C. Burial is in New Bern Memorial Cemetery.

Rivers-Morgan Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
