EAGLE LAKE, Maine (AP) — The National Weather Service has confirmed that two weak tornadoes touched down in remote areas of Maine during Sunday's storms.

Officials say an EF-0 tornado with a maximum speed of 70 mph touched down in Eagle Lake in far northern Maine shortly after 3 p.m. It was estimated to be 50 yards wide and 80 yards long. There were no reported injuries or damage to structures.

Another EF-0 tornado with a maximum wind speed of 60 mph uprooted or snapped about a dozen trees at 4:30 p.m. in Pleasant Ridge Plantation, just north of Bingham in Somerset County. The tornado's path was estimated to be 40 yards wide and 60 yards long. No injuries were reported.
