Winter weather advisory: Allen, Adams, Huntington, Kosciusko, Wabash, Wells, Whitley, Mercer, Paulding, Van Wert

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Allen County and areas south of Fort Wayne, saying those areas will see 2 to 5 inches of snow from tonight to Friday morning.

The weather service said Allen County and eight other counties in northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio would see 3 to 5 inches of snow between 7 p.m. tonight and 8 a.m. Friday.

Other counties included in the advisory area are Adams, Huntington, Kosciusko, Wabash, Wells and Whitley counties in Indiana and Paulding and Van Wert counties in Ohio.

Mercer County, Ohio, is to see 2 to 4 inches of snow from 7 p.m. tonight to 10 a.m. Friday, the weather service said.

The counties north of Fort Wayne -- DeKalb, LaGrange, Noble and Steuben in Indiana and Defiance and Williams in Ohio -- are to expect up to 2 inches of snow late tonight, the weather service said.

It said the wind-chill warning for the area has expired.
