Longmont Police Arrest Suspect in Target Arson Case
Longmont police have arrested a 19-year-old in connection with the June Target arson case.
Nathan H. Cordick was found and arrested on Wednesday in Guilford County, North Carolina. He faces charges of first-degree arson, second-degree burglary, theft and criminal mischief resulting in damages greater than $1 million.
Police deemed the fire at the Target store on 551 S. Hover Street an arson a week after it was reported . The store was closed for repairs for a period of time. The company did not release the extent of the damage, but Cordick’s charges indicate it exceeded $1 million.
Firefighters said they saw a significant amount of smoke when they arrived at the store. The fire triggered the store’s fire sprinkler system and damaged products.
According to Colorado courts records, Cordick has no previous criminal history in this state.
