Omaha massage therapist charged with sex assaults
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — An Omaha massage therapist has been accused of sexually assaulting women during their appointments at a spa.
Court records say 62-year-old Melvin Buffington Jr. is charged with two counts of sexual assault. Police say more charges are expected. Douglas County Jail records show he remained in custody Wednesday. The court records don’t list the name of an attorney who could comment for Buffington.
The records say a woman reported Feb. 11 that she was assaulted at the Oasis Massage & Spa on Jan. 12, and another woman reported that she was assaulted by Buffington on Feb. 15 during her appointment.
Police say the spa is cooperating with investigators.
