Man charged with impregnanting 14-year-old girl
BRIDGEPORT - A local man was arrested after police said he impregnated a 14-year-old girl.
Courtney Parkinson, 21, of Reservoir Avenue, was charged Tuesday with second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a child.
He was being held in lieu of $75,000 bond.
Police said the victim’s mother became concerned about her daughter’s health and took her to a doctor who determined the girl was pregnant. The mother then contacted police.
During a subsequent forensic interview at the Center for Women and Families, police said the girl said she had met Parkinson at a Thanksgiving event and the two of them began doing “stuff” at Parkinson’s home.
Police said the girl told them she learned she was pregnant after taking a home pregnancy test but Parkinson told her he did not want to have a baby. But police said the girl told them Parkinson would not take her to get an abortion.
