Man sentenced to 4 years in prison for bar shooting
MERIDEN, Conn. (AP) — A Connecticut man has been sentenced to four years in prison for his role in a bar shooting that left another man with serious injuries.
The Record-Journal reports that 28-year-old Vincequan Wright was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty to second-degree assault.
Prosecutors say Wright shot 29-year-old Christopher Durant in the neck in March 2017 after an altercation at the now-closed 105 Restaurant and Lounge.
Durant filed a negligence lawsuit against the bar in December saying the bar failed to protect him, hire security guards and prevent Wright from entering with a gun.
He was seeking more than $15,000 in damages. That case is pending according to online judicial records.
