Musical headliners announced for Milford Oyster Festival
The “funky metal” band Extreme is is the musical headliner in this year’s Milford Oyster Festival, organizers announced Thursday.
The 45th annual festival will be held on Saturday, Aug. 17 in downtown Milford,
Opening for Extreme is Badfish: A Tribute to the Sublime.
On Friday, Aug. 16, Bon Jersey will perform on “Oyster Eve.” The band is called the Ultimate Bon Jovi Tribute Band and was the winner of Limelight Magazine’s Tribute Band of the Year.
Since the late 1980s, Extreme has been recognized as innovators in rock. The Boston-bred foursome music blends classic rock influences with post grunge and alternative rock.
The Grammy-nominated group has released six albums, plus a greatest hits set and a live DVD.
Their top hits include “More than Words,” “Hole Hearted,” “Decadence Dance” and “Get the Funk Out.”
The festival will be held rain or shine in downtown Milford from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Aug. 17.
Oyster Eve will from 6 to 10 p.m. on Aug. 16.
