LISBON, Portugal (AP) — Lima scored a hat trick as Benfica thrashed nine-man Rio Ave 6-1 to maintain its four-point lead over FC Porto in the Portuguese league on Saturday.

Nicolas Gaitan set up defender Lorenzo Melgarejo for Benfica's 11th-minute opener before passing for Nemanja Matic to double the lead with a header four minutes later.

Lima took his first goal from a pass by Enzo Perez in the 42nd before adding two more in the 49th and 76th after both Jose de Sousa and Eidmard received their second bookings, leaving the visitors with nine men.

Perez capped the win in the 82nd. Ahmed Hassan scored for Rio Ave in the 51st.

Porto broke a two-game winless streak in the league by winning 3-0 at Academica from goals by Eliaquim Mangala, Danilo and Andre Castro.
