The prep volleyball season came to an end recently, and it was a memorable one locally with two teams qualifying for the state tournament and advancing at least to the second round in Class AAA.

Sonoraville’s Bree Steely was key in her team’s run to the postseason, and the junior was recognized for it recently. The junior co-captain was named to the Georgia Volleyball Coaches Association Class AAA All-State Team. Steely, who played multiple positions, finished the season with 125 kills, 63 aces, 25 blocks, 117 assists an 89.2 serving percentage.

“Bree is the most well-rounded player I’ve coached,” said Sonoraville coach Trace Vaughn. “She understands the game, is very coachable, extremely smart, a vocal leader, works hard and has passion for the game. I could not be more proud of what she has already accomplished, and I can’t wait to see how far she can go in this sport and life.”
