No snow yet, but winter hours set for Madison recycling sites

November 28, 2017

Even with no snow in the capital city, Madison will switch to winter hours at its recycling sites beginning Monday.

The Streets Division said the expanded summer hours end Sunday, the final day the sites will be open on a weekend day.

All three sites are open through Sunday, but the drop-off site at 402 South Point Road on the Far West Side will close for the winter starting Monday.

The 4602 Sycamore Avenue and 1501 West Badger Road drop-off sites will stay open all winter.

The three sites will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. every day through Sunday, with extended hours to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.

Starting Monday, the Sycamore Avenue and West Badger Road sites will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Winter hours remain in effect until March 30, 2018, with the expanded summer hours starting March 31. The South Point Road site will also reopen on March 31.
