A Learning Experience in Tewksbury
TEWKSBURY -- Lina Gruca has returned to her hometown to run The Learning Experience in Tewksbury.
The new early childhood education center, located at 1593 Andover St., can service children from 6 months to 7 years old.
“We’re just super excited to be here in this community,” said Gruca of Dracut. “We’re in the perfect location, so I think we’ll be able to service a lot of families.”
The center is part of the Kennedy Commons development, developed by David Daly. Gruca said what sets The Learning Experience apart from similar childhood centers is its emphasis on a diverse curriculum.
“We have quite a bit of curriculum in our program, so it’s all inclusive. It’s included in our tuition,” she said. “We do sign language for infants and up as well as Spanish for infants and up. In older pre-school, we also have a phonics curriculum. We have quite a bit of literacy and educational programming.”
Right now, there are 47 active students, but 62 are enrolled in total, Gruca said. The space can accommodate up to 165 students. There are 15 staff members, but as more children are enrolled, that number will grow. The Learning Experience is looking to hire Department of Early Education and Care certified teaching staff as well as teacher assistants.
Gruca said the grand opening event earlier this month attracted both current and prospective families. She said, overall, parents have been very excited about their children attending the center.
“I grew up in Tewksbury, so it’s very close and dear to my heart,” Gruca said. “It’s just great to be able to be back in town. And I love it here. It’s very rewarding.”
