Johnson, Walz debate on Oct. 9
WILLMAR, Minn. — Gubernatorial candidates Tim Walz and Jeff Johnson will participate in a debate at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Willmar, Minn., that will focus on rural and agricultural issues.
The Minnesota Corn Growers Association , WCCO Radio and Minnesota AgriGrowth are hosting the debate and it will be broadcast live on WCCO Radio.
“Minnesota farmers are facing uncertain times, which impacts rural communities throughout the state,” said corn growers President Brian Thalmann. “We are proud to co-host this debate as an opportunity for all of greater Minnesota to hear directly from both candidates on the issues that are impacting farmers and all outstate residents.”
Johnson is a Hennepin County Commissioner and the endorsed Republican candidate for governor. Walz is the U.S. House representative from Minnesota’s 1st District and is the DFL candidate for governor.
