Drowning victim recovered from Lake Mead
BOULDER CITY, Nev. — A man’s body was recovered from Lake Mead on Sunday, the apparent victim of a drowning a day earlier.
According to a release from the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, the man was reported missing around 4:40 p.m. on Saturday after he failed to surface while swimming in open water near Sand Island.
The National Park Service and Nevada Department of Wildlife responded and requested a dive team from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
The man’s body was recovered on Sunday.
The Clark County Medical Examiner’s office will identify the victim and determine the cause of death.
The man reportedly was not wearing a life jacket.
The incident remains under investigation.
