Cleveland’s CHA Spirits and Pizza Kitchen to close Sept. 15

CLEVELAND, Ohio - After re-opening in its new Ohio City home last December, CHA Spirits and Pizza Kitchen will close its doors this weekend. Saturday, Sept. 15 will be the last day for the restaurant at 3800 Whitman Ave., Cleveland.

In August 2017, owner Susan Walters closed the original location, which had been in the Battery Park area since 2014.

Walters tells Cleveland.com the decision was due to an inability to agree on new lease terms. “We’re very sad,” she says of the closing.

The move to Ohio City was a bit of a homecoming for Walters, she told Cleveland.com of the move. She opened her first restaurant, KeKA Spanish, in the neighborhood in 1995 and has been a resident of Ohio City for more than three decades.

The restaurant, which announced the closing via Facebook, noted in its post: “With heavy hearts we are announcing that Cha Ohio City will be closing after this Saturday 9/15 for good. We thank our loyal customers, new friends, and awesome neighbors for supporting our short stint here and hope you will stop by this weekend and say farewell.”
