Longmont Police Notes: Dating Website Scam
A woman reported on Saturday being scammed while using the eHarmony.com dating website. The suspect was found to be out of the country.
Longmont police responded to a report of a woman using narcotics in a vehicle sometime on Monday in the area of Pike Road and Airport Road. The woman initially provided a false name to police, but when she was later identified, she was found to have an active warrant for her arrest. She was arrested and taken to the Boulder County Jail.
Officers were contacted on Nov. 30 by Boulder County Housing and Human Services regarding a potential sexual assault which had occurred approximately six years ago in the area of Elizabeth Court and First Avenue. The victim did not wish to participate in the investigation at this time, so the case is closed.
An officer was flagged down by a person at 10:40 a.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of 21st Avenue. The person reported seeing a man waving a gun around in a vehicle at a local park. The 26-year-old male driver was found to have a municipal warrant and was taken into custody. He also was issued a summons for traffic related charges, such as not possessing a driver license, operating an uninsured vehicle and the use of fictitious plates.
