Woman allegedly sets friend’s garage on fire after dispute
Bullhead City — A Bullhead City woman was arrested Thursday after allegedly setting her friend’s garage on fire while the homeowner and another person were inside.
Brenda L. Prudham, 55, faces suspicion of aggravated criminal damage, aggravated assault, destroying evidence and arson of an occupied structure charges.
According to a press release from the Bullhead City Police Department, the garage fire that occurred around 1 a.m. in the 2700 block of Sidewheel Drive was determined to be suspicious by fire investigators. During the police investigation, the home’s owner provided officers with video surveillance that allegedly showed her friend starting the fire, states the agency.
“It was also discovered that Prudham threw away the lighter fluid container in the Dumpster, knowing the trash company would empty the bins that same day,” the press release states.
The homeowner allegedly told police that Prudham was at the residence earlier in the night for a party when an argument ensued between the two while Prudham was leaving, according to the press release. The victim added that Prudham had struck her and another parked vehicle upon reversing out of the area at a high speed, the press release states.
