November 3, 2018 GMT

TORRINGTON, Wyo. — WyoRing will again ring out loud and clear on Nov. 10 when handbell ringers join together for a day of fun with music. Joyce Willeke is director of two local handbell choirs under WyoRing housed at the First Wyoming United Presbyterian Church: Platte River Ringers and Wyo West Ringers. Bell choir ringers from southeastern Wyoming and western Nebraska will also participate.

The daylong event at Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington starts with setup at 8 a.m., continuing with rehearsals during the day and culminating with a concert at 3 p.m. The concert will feature the combined talents of all the ringers performing collectively with massed ringing numbers. Willeke will direct several numbers, along with Ron and Joan Swim from Cheyenne who will also direct the goup.

The public is invited to come to the free WyoRing concert at the EWC Fine Arts Auditorium at 3 p.m. on Nov. 10. Diona Savoy-McDaniels, local ringer and event coordinator, said, “We love playing handbells and enjoy this opportunity to share our love of this unique musical artform with the community.”

WyoRing is always looking for more ringers to join the local bell choirs. Anyone wanting more information can call 307-532-2595 or 307-575-6490 to learn more about WyoRing.
