Deal with it! Punxsutawney Phil says 6 more weeks of winter on Groundhog Day
It’s hard to imagine spring when you wake up to what Western Pennsylvania woke up to today, but we’ll see what the rodent says.
Punxsutawney Phil will make his annual prognostication about the future of our winter early this morning.
And if history has any bearing on what he sees today, keep those jackets and snow boots handy.
Over the years, Phil has seen his shadow 103 times, which means six more weeks of winter.
He has predicted an early spring just 18 times — when Phil hasn’t seen a shadow.
Phil will make his prediction around 7:30 a.m.
Western Pennsylvania woke up to cold temperatures with a biting wind and snow bands that were leaving some roads with a layer of snow and ice.
The forecasted high in the region is 18 degrees. A weekend warmup will help temperatures reach the lower 30s on Saturday.
