Police: Paterson drug bust results in seizure of $11k in cash and 7 arrests
PATERSON – City narcotics detectives arrested four suspected drug dealers and three alleged buyers during a bust on Thursday that focused on a marijuana sales in the city’s 4th Ward, police said.
Detectives also confiscated almost $11,000 from the suspected dealers, including $9,996 from one man, 35-year-old-Prince Carter, who has a lengthy criminal record, police said.
Three suspects – Carter, 29-year-old Genar Nortfleet and 37-year Thomas Womble – were charged with more than 12 different crimes each, including possession and intent to sell 42 baggies of marijuana and 74 glassine packets of heroin, police said.
“The men and women of the department are working tirelessly to make a safer city,” said Paterson Police Director Jerry Speziale.
The investigation focused on drug sales on Governor Street, between Rosa Parks Boulevard and Carroll Street, police said. Some suspects were arrested on that block and the rest in other parts of Paterson, police said. All the suspects are Paterson resident, police said.
The fourth suspected drug dealer, 45-year-old Zoran Beal, was charged with four crimes, including intent to sell 26 baggies of marijuana, police said.
Three Paterson residents were charged with possession of marijuana – 25-year-old Marycarmen Montalvo, 21-year-old Neame Sanchez, and 27-year-old Nathaniel Brunson.
