Avon to screen Coppola and Walter Hill films in late August
The Avon Theatre will host two special screenings of the 1979 cult classic, ‘The Warriors,’ and the 1972 film, ‘The Godfather,’ in late August.
The screening of ‘The Warriors,’ will be at 8:30 p.m., Aug. 22. Set in a dystopian near future, The Warriors street gang are framed for the assassination of the city’s foremost gang overlord and need to make it home to the Bronx,N.Y. as they are chased by dozens of other gangs.
The screening of ’The Godfather,” on Aug. 30 will include a pre-film reception at 6:30 p.m. including Italian delicacies. The film will begin at 7 p.m. and runs 172 minutes.
Ticket prices to both screenings are free to Avon Carte Blanche members, $7 for members, $9 for students and seniors and $12 for non-members.
