Prep baseball: Fairland, Rock Hill fall in district semifinals

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Frankfort Adena (18-10) defeated Fairland 11-0 Thursday in a Division III district semifinal high school baseball game.

The Warriors scored the only run they needed in the first inning when Nate Throckmorton was hit by a pitch, stole second, moved to third on a passed ball and scored on a wild pitch.

Garrett Wilburn went 3 for 3. Jerrett Garrison was 2 for 3 and drove in two. Caleb Foglesong went 2 for 2 and Lucas Foglesong was 3 for 5 with a home run and three RBI.

Brennan West went 2 for 3 for the Dragons (18-9).

WESTFALL 6, ROCK HILL 5: The Mustangs overcame a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Redmen in a Division III district semifinal game in Chillicothe. Westfall tied the game 2-2, only to see Rock Hill go ahead 5-2 in the top of the seventh. The Mustangs tied the game in the bottom of the inning, than scored in the eighth to win.

WHEELERSBURG 11, PAINT VALLEY 1: The Pirates routed the Bearcats to win a Division III district semifinal game in Chillicothe. Wheelersburg meets Westfall at 1:30 p.m. Saturday for the district title and spot in the regional semifinals.
