Father Suspected in Family’s Death
TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ A man who police say was stained with blood walked into their station and told them he had killed his wife and daughters.
Authorities found Ron Fluke’s wife dead on a couch Friday in the family’s home and his two daughters, ages 11 and 13, dead in their beds.
All three had been shot in the head. Fluke’s wife, Ginger, also had been struck with a hatchet.
``It doesn’t add up,″ said neighbor Mark Choplin, whose two children were friends with Fluke’s daughters, Suzanne and Kathryn. ``I just wonder what is going on _ the children?″
Ron Fluke was charged with three counts of first-degree murder. A small-caliber pistol was recovered from the scene, police said.
Police did not have a motive for the killings, which took place a few hours after the family attended a high school football game Thursday night.
``The investigation has revealed that he planned to do this for some time _ at least several days,″ Sgt. Wayne Allen said. ``He made steps toward taking his own life but did not follow through.″
