A man was arrested Monday in Needles, California, when Needles Police Department deputies discovered there was a warrant for his arrest.

When Needles Police deputies attempted to stop Victor Perez, the department said this week, Perez fled on foot into a nearby home. Perez was found to have been on active parole, stemming from an original charge of murder. Perez was wanted on charges of violating his parole.

Deputies say they located Perez, who was allegedly hiding in the attic of the residence. Perez was taken into custody without incident and transferred to Needles Jail pending a court hearing.

The investigation into this case remains ongoing, according to Needles Police officials, and anyone with information in the case is advised to contact the Needles Police Department at 760-326-9200. Tips can also be given anonymously at 1-800-782-7463, or through www.wetip.com.
