North Carolina woman accused of stealing from band boosters
SALISBURY, N.C. (AP) — Authorities in North Carolina have accused a woman of stealing money from a middle school’s band booster club.
News outlets report the Rowan County Sheriff’s said in a news release that 48-year-old Nanette Morgan Isenhour of Cooleemee is charged with two counts of embezzlement of funds by a public officer/trustee.
Investigators say Isenhour used a debit card to steal $2,700 from the West Rowan Middle School’s band club’s account during a three-week span in February and March. An investigation showed the questionable transactions were linked to the same debit card that was issued to one of the parents involved in the club.
Isenhour is free on $5,000 bail after turning herself in on Wednesday. It’s not known if she has an attorney.
