Costumes rewarded with sweet treats from trunks

November 1, 2016

COLUMBUS -- Ghouls, goblins, Tiggers and bears. Costumes from the living, dead and make-believe roamed the parking lot of Lost Creek Elementary School Monday night on the hunt for one thing -- sugar.

With 19 trunks decked out in themes, hundreds of kids and adults lined up dressed up in costumes at the sixth annual Columbus Public Schools Trunk or Treat event. They were taking their turns getting pictures with characters and receiving their sweet treats.

From businesses and organizations, to student groups and Columbus Public School staff members, anyone was invited to participate in giving out candy at the event.

The Best Costume Award went to the Rosno family, which had its trunk and costumes were built around the Disney theme “Wonderland.” The Most Creative Award went to Cruise and Associates, which dressed up its vehicle and participants in everything from the board game Candy Land.

The Best Trunk Award went to the Columbus Middle School for its take on 101 Dalmatians.
