Silica Holdings: 4Q Earnings Snapshot
KATY, Texas (AP) _ U.S. Silica Holdings Inc. (SLCA) on Tuesday reported a loss of $292.9 million in its fourth quarter.
The Katy, Texas-based company said it had a loss of $3.99 per share. Losses, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 53 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 56 cents per share.
The commercial silica producer posted revenue of $339.1 million in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $296.1 million.
For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $329.1 million, or $4.49 per share. Revenue was reported as $1.47 billion.
Silica Holdings shares have fallen 17% since the beginning of the year. The stock has decreased 67% in the last 12 months.
