LAUGHLIN — Due to the tremendous generosity of Aquarius Casino Resort guests, team members and ace | PLAY™ card members, the resort’s “Feed A Family” program provided meals to 1,240 local families of four, resulting in 4,960 individuals fed this holiday season. The “Feed A Family” initiative, combined ace | PLAY points contributed by card members with cash and credit contributions to provide families in need with meals for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

For every 12,000 ace | PLAY points contributed, Aquarius purchased a box of holiday food items large enough for a family of four, including a 7 pound ham for Thanksgiving and a 12 pound turkey for Christmas, potatoes, gravy, vegetables, rolls, cranberry sauce, stuffing, pie, and whipped cream, which will then be donated to local food banks and pantries, and distributed to local families.

“Each year during the holiday season, the Colorado River Food Bank, along with many other food pantries in the area, provides holiday food boxes to our clients at both Thanksgiving and Christmas,” said Darryl Dauenhauer, Colorado River Food Bank Treasurer. “As a result of the efforts and generosity of the employees, management, and customers of the Aquarius, many families in the area will have a brighter holiday season this year with a complete traditional meal for their family”.

The Christmas Tree Silent Auction, which is a part of the Feed A Family program, helped raise $10,510.00, which fed 1000 people, by auctioning off ten fully decorated Christmas trees. Out of the ten trees that were purchased, 5 were donated to either a family or veteran in need of a Christmas tree.

“Helping out others in need is what the holidays are all about,” said Sean Hammond, Aquarius Casino Resort General Manager. “We’re overjoyed that Aquarius’ ‘Feed A Family’ program had another highly-successful year and we can do our part in spreading holiday cheer to families in our community who need it most.”

The Aquarius was able to help families in the tri-state community by working with these organizations: Kingman Food Bank in Kingman, AZ; Cornerstone Mission Project in Kingman, AZ; Golden Valley Food Bank in Golden Valley, AZ; Food for Families in Bullhead City, AZ; Colorado River Food Bank in Laughlin, NV; The Women’s Club in Needles, CA; Interagency Council Community Food Bank in Lake Havasu City, AZ; United Methodist Church in Fort Mohave, AZ; and Caring Hearts in Bullhead City, AZ.
