February 13, 2019

An Aiken teen was charged Monday in connection with a 2017 burglary on Hahn Avenue in Aiken.

Dajoun Martin, 18, is charged with two counts of second-degree burglary and failure to comply, according to jail records.

On Nov. 1, 2017, officers with the Aiken Department of Public Safety responded to a home on Hahn Avenue in reference to a burglary, according to the report.

Investigators spoke with the 21-year-old victim who stated she was getting her hair done between 5 and 10 p.m., and during that time frame someone broke into her home and stole her television, the report states.

There were no signs of forced entry, but the victim said a window at the back of the residence would not lock.

The victim claimed while she was getting her hair done, Martin texted her roommate asking if she was at home. She also said she saw Martin hanging around her residence when she left for her hair appointment.

Following an investigation, Martin was determined to be the suspect and he was arrested Monday. He was taken to the Aiken County detention center, where he was still being held Tuesday.
