Okoboji Summer Theatre presents ‘Leaving Iowa’
OKOBOJI, Iowa -- The Okoboji Summer Theatre (OST) is presenting its second production of the summer, titled “Leaving Iowa.”
This production centers around main character Don Browning returning home to relive childhood memories of road trips to places like Mount Union, Iowa.
New York-based director Janice L. Goldberg said the play is an Okoboji crowd favorite.
“In coming all the way to Iowa to direct a play called ‘Leaving Iowa,’ I realize you can, indeed, go home again,” Goldberg said. “It’s all part of a joyous journey.”
The cast features OST favorite Rob Doyen, along with returning actors Andrew Stachurski and Dru Silva and students from Stephens College.
“Leaving Iowa” runs Tuesday to Sunday, June 19-24. Curtain times are Tuesday through Saturday at 8 p.m, Saturday matinee at 4:30 p.m. and Sunday at 6 p.m. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased at the OST box office at 2001 Highway 71 N., by calling 712-332-7773 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
