JoAnne Smith, 94, of Kankakee, and formerly of Farmer City, passed away Tuesday (Jan. 29, 2019) at Miller Healthcare in Kankakee.
She was born March 27, 1924, the daughter of Victor and Mildred Holst Barcroft.
JoAnne married Robert P. Smith on Aug. 9, 1947, in Chicago. He preceded her in death June 14, 2007.
She was a graduate of Eureka College. JoAnne was a homemaker, a member of P.E.O. and an avid golfer. She was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jeffery and Sue Smith, of Bourbonnais, and Randy Smith, of Incline Village, Nev.; three grandchildren, Stacy and James Vlahakis, of Burr Ridge, Scott and Jennifer Smith, of Bourbonnais, and Brad Smith, of Reno, Nev.; and four great-grandchildren, Evan Vlahakis, Ian Vlahakis, Matthew Smith and Lily Smith.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, until the 11 a.m. funeral service on Friday, Feb. 1, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. The Rev. Scott Henley will officiate the service. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Inurnment will be in Mackinaw Township Cemetery in Mackinaw.
