Ohio man dies after being shot by intruders in home

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A man died Wednesday after gunmen entered his Columbus home and shot him, police say.

Police say that witnesses saw gunmen enter the home of Connor Robert Reynolds, 23, at about 2:30 a.m. The gunmen shot Reynolds and two of the five dogs inside the home.

Another man in the home jumped out of a window to safety, the Columbus Dispatch reports.

Reynolds was driven by friends to Riverside Hospital but died of his wounds, police say. The two wounded dogs are in stable condition.

WCMH Channel 4 says police believe there was drug activity in the home but it’s unclear what role it might have played in the shooting.

Columbus police say this is the 56th homicide this year in the city.
