Billings church hosts ‘constructive conversation’ on climate change

February 12, 2018 GMT

A Constructive Conversation on “Can we realistically do anything about climate change?” will be held from 1 p.m. through 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 180 24th Street West.

In these conversations, people are assigned to groups of six — three answering yes to the question, and three against. With the guidance of a facilitator, each person has the opportunity to talk about personal beliefs and feelings on climate change.

The goal is to learn to listen to others who do not share your viewpoint, and then to share your own experiences in a safe place. There is no debate and no consensus is reached; instead, participants learn to talk in a civil way about a controversial topic.

To register by the Feb. 21 deadline, phone the church office, 406-656-9256. Leave your name, contact information and a response of “yes” or “no” to the question.
