February 14, 2019 GMT

A suspect who broke into a woman’s car as she entered her garage at home then went on a shopping spree is being sought by Harris County Precinct 5 Constable’s Office deputies.

According to investigators with Constable Ted Heap’s Office, the suspect snatched a purse in the 1000 block of Arrow Hill Road in West Houston. The suspect was caught on surveillance video “using the victim’s stolen credit cards to purchase Valentine ‘Love’ gift cards at a nearby superstore.”

The victim is a 61-year-old west Houston resident. She was returning home after shopping at a nearby grocery store on Wednesday, Jan. 30. The suspect was caught on home security video pulling up in front of the home and waiting for the victim to pull into her garage. He was observed running into the garage where he broke the passenger side window of the woman’s vehicle, stole her purse and then ran back to his white four-door sedan and speeding off.

“Within minutes, the suspect ran up hundreds of dollars in fraudulent purchases with the victim’s stolen credit cards for what appears to be his Valentine’s shopping at a discount store at Highway 6 and Westpark,” the Constable’s Office reported.

According to investigators, the suspect “appears to be a tall, thin black male, approximately 18-25 years old. He is wearing a black-and-white Moncler Magglia Applique-patch sweatshirt, designer jeans, princess cut earrings and red Nike Air Max Plus TN Ultra shoes. He has facial hair on his chin and tattoos on his neck and on the back of both hands. He is also using an iPhone with a red protective case.”

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has any information about this crime is asked to call Investigator L. Lizcano at 281-463-6666 or submit tips at https://constablepct5.com/index.php/online-crime-tips.
