White Mountains: 4Q Earnings Snapshot
HANOVER, N.H. (AP) _ White Mountains Insurance Group Ltd. (WTM) on Wednesday reported a fourth-quarter loss of $137.5 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Hanover, New Hampshire-based company said it had a loss of $43.24. Earnings, adjusted for investment costs, were 19 cents per share.
The insurer posted revenue of $6 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $11.6 million.
For the year, the company reported a loss of $141.2 million, or $41.76 per share, swinging to a loss in the period. Revenue was reported as $40.8 million.
White Mountains shares have risen nearly 4 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen almost 10 percent in the last 12 months.
