Redskins draft Greg Stroman in seventh round
The Washington Redskins drafted Virginia Tech cornerback Greg Stroman in the seventh round of the NFL draft Saturday with the 241st overall pick.
Stroman is a 5-foot-11 corner, but also has the ability to return punts. He is the second Hokie taken by the Redskins in this draft. In the fifth round, Washington also took Tim Settle Stroman’s college and high school teammate. They played together at Stonewall Jackson High School is Manassas, Virginia.
“It just feels like normal school, going to Virginia Tech again,” Stroman said.
The Virginia Tech connection runs strong at Redskins Park with defensive backs coach Torrian Gray. Washington had former Hokie corner Kendall Fuller until they traded him in the offseason to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Alex Smith trade.
Stroman was coached by Gray during his first two years in college.
